Theme

We created "Screams From The Deep" for the Brakeys Game Jam. We interpreted the theme of Diving Deeper  by creating a game set on a submarine that has dived too deep into the Mariana trench and found the horrors that lurk within. 


Overview

My responsibilities were to make the AI enemy that jumped out of a vent like Alien Isolation and patrolled around a room. if you made noise like walking on glass or interacting with something, the monster would investigate.


We over scoped and didn't finish the game by the deadline, but we managed to make an unperforment level 1. We plan to finish it - player can get from the start to the end of the levels - when we have a weekend spare.

Plastic SCM

Plastic is my new favourite source control. It's fast, easy, and fail-safe for my team to use. It's like Perforce with changesets and file locking, but a much cheaper alternative - 7$ per user while perforce is in the hundreds. I've only been lightly using Perforce in another module, but so far Plastic is way faster at handling uploads, downloads, and branch changing. Also, you can connect the editor to Plastic much like you can with perforce or git, but it has more editor support than git does.
